I have a very lovely friend who one afternoon repeatedly used the statement, “Now that I summer in Europe...” Mainly it was referring to things such as, not letting the children get a dog or, “Now that I summer in Europe I can’t possibly let the kids play soccer..” Blah blah, you get it. After about the 50th time I heard it, I had to interrupt and say to my husband, “ If you don’t agree right now to take me to Europe next summer, we’ve got to leave.” I don’t remember what he said. We didn’t leave. But I enjoyed the interaction so much that I’ve been using the phrase myself. I’ve even designed a collection around it, should I, by chance, actually summer in Europe. So, here you are; a Californian traveling the Amalfi Coast.
